Apprenticeships are a combination of work-based training and college education, giving you the opportunity to earn while you learn. Over the course of an apprenticeship, you will work to achieve SVQs, Key Skills/Core Skills and a Technical Certificate.
Apprenticeships in Scotland take a minimum of three years to complete, depending on the course. On completion, as an apprentice you will have achieved an SVQ level 2 and 3. It is also necessary to achieve relevant Core Skills.
Once you have finished your apprenticeship, you will be a skilled craftsperson who will also be employed, and well on your way in your chosen profession.
Applicants should have, or expect to achieve Standard Grades 1-4 in Maths, English, one science and a technical subject.
**Please note, there are NO advanced apprenticeships in Scotland**
