Heating and Ventilating fitter

LukeOn leaving school, Luke was keen to follow in his father's footsteps and train to become a plumber so when he heard about the apprenticeship training offered by BEST, he wasted no time in getting in contact.

Following an interview and short test, BEST put Luke in touch with Haydon Mechanical & Electrical and helped him enrol on a Heating and Ventilation course at Southampton City College where he is currently in the second year of his two year NVQ. Luke commented "BEST have been very helpful from day one, if there is ever a problem, I just speak to my training advisor Don Anderson and he will do all he can to help. He is also pushing to get me on my Level 3 NVQ."

Luke is just one of BEST's many apprentices who has successfully taken the step towards defining his career in the building services engineering sector and when asked whether he would recommend the industry to others Luke added, "most definitely, working in heating and ventilation is a good trade and has a lot to offer for a great future."
