BEST Scoops A Medal for Excellence
Mar 14 2012
BEST (Building Engineering Services Training) a leading UK training provider for the Building Services Engineering (BSE) sector is delighted to announce the achievement of a City & Guilds Medal for Excellence.
City and Guilds Medals for Excellence have been awarded for over 100 years and aim to acknowledge exceptional talent amongst both learners and tutors. All Medal winners will now go forward to the annual Lion Awards which will be held on 15th March at the Round House in London.
Christine Wright General Manager Technical Services for BEST said: “we are absolutely delighted with this award. Although BEST has been established as an industry training provider since 1990 and has managed the training of over 7000 apprentices since then, our Assessment Centre has only been running for three and a half years and this is the first time that we have entered a candidate. We see this as real recognition for the exceptional quality of our delivery and of the hard work of our assessors and students.
Our candidate this year was Robert Iveson ; Roberts assessor, Paul Webster said “we chose Robert because his portfolio of evidence was exceptional . He is always willing to learn and to improve on his efforts beyond the accepted standard”
Robert works for Geoffrey Robinson Ltd in Billingham. The company was formed in 1971 specifically to provide mechanical building services with an emphasis on boiler plant and the inter-changeability of primary fuels. Now in its 41st year and no stranger to awards Geoffrey Robinson commented on this latest accolade: “I am extremely proud of Roberts’s achievement. It is a highlight in our 41 years of trading”.
On being presented with his award Robert said “I wasn’t very good at school, I was always more hands on so this is a great achievement for me. I didn’t expect it but it is really nice to have your efforts recognized. I am looking forward to the Lion Awards.”
